Emily, LCSW
Emily Brown is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s degree in Social Work with a focus on how trauma impacts families. She also is a certified School Social Worker and Home School Visitor through the Department of Education.
Emily wants to partner with people to reveal a person’s own strengths to increase their daily functioning. Her experience and education has been focused on teens, families, and people with disabilities who experience anxiety, depression, trauma, anger, and lack of motivation. Emily uses a strength-based and trauma-informed approach while working with individuals, families, and couples.
While working with Emily you can expect her to use empathy, reflective listening, solution focused therapy, and cognitive behavioral therapy to work towards your goals. She recognizes that it can be difficult for some people to attend therapy as there are many barriers such as time, energy, and motivation. As a therapist, she creates a safe space for her clients to explore their thoughts and feelings in order to facilitate healing. Emily is a LGBTQIA+ and disability ally.
