Amber is a Licensed Social Worker who aims to soon be a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She obtained both her LSW and her master’s degree in Social Work from Millersville University in 2017. She has a passion for working with survivors of trauma and has experience supporting survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. Amber also has a special interest in supporting individuals who struggle with body image and self-esteem concerns in their goals toward self-acceptance. During her previous clinical work, Amber worked with adults and adolescents in hospitals, shelters, schools, and in homes. She has worked with a wide array of individuals with mental health disorders, including personality disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and psychosis. She has knowledge of CBT and DBT therapeutic interventions and also integrates motivational interviewing, trauma-informed care, and the strengths-based approach.
Amber is an LGBTQ+ ally and is dedicated to creating and maintaining a safe space for all individuals. She is also dedicated to meeting clients where they are and trusting that they are the experts of their own lives. She believes that trauma does not have to define the course of your life and that it is never too late to take the first steps toward healing. Amber is invested in walking alongside her clients through this process and allowing them to feel heard, validated, and encouraged along the way.
