• Angelique Chelton, LAPC, PMH-C, CGP, CTP

Welcoming a baby doesn’t always go as planned. Sometimes there is pain, struggle, trauma, or loss. Sometimes you feel like you’re losing yourself, or that your relationships feel different. If that’s you- there IS hope. If you’ve experienced the emotional and relational challenges related to infertility, perinatal mood issues like anxiety or depression, pregnancy or birth trauma, reproductive medical challenges, identity loss, relationship shifts, miscarriage, stillbirth, early infant death, TFMR, NICU admissions, or any other stress related to child-bearing, Angie is ready to companion you toward healing and wellness. Angie Chelton has spent her career supporting people who experience family-building challenges. She began this work over 15 years ago as an assistant midwife, doula, and birth educator, and Angie transitioned into counseling because lived experience with infertility, pregnancy loss, and perinatal anxiety underlined the need for expert mental health support for people whose family-building journey holds unexpected challenges.

Angie also loves working with parents who face challenges with children of any age, supporting them to create joyful relationships. She works with professional mothers trying to ‘balance it all’ to overcome obstacles that block a fulfilling life. Additionally, she holds space for clients healing from religious trauma while exploring their own value-system and beliefs.  Angie is a dedicated BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ advocate- these are some of her favorite clients.

Angie approaches therapy from a ‘you-centered’ lens: this means she carefully evaluates your unique situation to collaboratively design a treatment plan that will fit your values, needs, and goals. She holds certificates in perinatal mental health, grief, and trauma processing. Therapeutic approaches that fit well with her clients include Internal Family Systems, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and several trauma-specific therapies like Narrative Exposure Therapy, Prolonged Exposure Therapy, Written Exposure Therapy, and Flash Technique. Angie’s personal style is down to earth, warm, and collaborative with just a dash of humor thrown in for spice. She lives with her spouse of over 20 years, her 5 kids, a fluffy Irishdoodle, and two very spoiled cats.
