Bereavement & Grief Counseling
Bereavement & Grief Counseling
You are allowed to grieve in your own time, in your own way—and you don’t have to do it alone.
Grief is not a linear process. It is a deeply personal, often overwhelming journey through loss that can affect every part of your life—emotionally, physically, spiritually, and socially. At Everlasting Wellness LLC, we understand that grief isn’t something to “get over,” but something to move through with support, compassion, and space to feel.
Whether you’re mourning the death of a loved one, a miscarriage, a diagnosis, the loss of a relationship, or a future that will never be—your grief is valid. Your experience matters.
Types of Grief We Support
Normal (Adaptive) Grief
Most individuals experience waves of sorrow, anger, confusion, or numbness that begin to soften over time as they find ways to reconnect with life.
Prolonged Grief Disorder (PGD)
Newly recognized in the DSM-5-TR, PGD reflects a persistent, intense form of grief that disrupts functioning for more than a year. You may feel stuck, emotionally numb, or unable to re-engage with daily life.
Anticipatory Grief
This form of grief occurs before a loss, such as during terminal illness or major life decline, and can be just as emotionally taxing as grief after the loss.
Disenfranchised Grief
When grief is not acknowledged or validated by others—such as after a miscarriage, stillbirth, suicide, pet loss, or estranged relationship—it can feel especially isolating and silencing.
Traumatic Grief
When a loss is sudden, violent, or unexpected, it may be experienced as both grief and trauma, requiring integrated emotional and nervous system support.
