Jacqueline Smythe, LPC, MS
Jackie is deeply committed to supporting teens and young adults as they navigate depression, anxiety, and experiences with self-harm, always through a compassionate, empowerment-focused lens. Jackie strives to create a space where every woman feels comfortable, heard, and genuinely supported—mentally and physically. Through different modalities like DBT, CBT; Jackie helps young women build resilience, reconnect with their strengths, and develop tools for lasting well-being.
Jackie enjoys working with varying age groups, focusing on teens and college age adults. Jackie works through the varying issues that can come up especially when it comes to navigating the phases of life that change during the teen years. Working with teen girls with depression and self-harm struggles, Jackie works with the girls on how to overcome the pain and triggers that can lead to this behavior. Space is held for family sessions to help show teens that they are supported and loved when they feel at their lowest. Jackie encourages teens to learn to trust and open the door to being honest when it comes to all things with their parents. It’s important as teens transition to their post high school life, they have the necessary tools to strive and be empowered with loud voices. Using tools and dialectics from DBT, Jackie works with clients on how to respond to expected life changes in a way that feels more controlled and maintaining a sense of calm while rolling through the punches. Jackie does work in different aspects of feminism as ways of exploring how young girls and women can be oppressed when it comes to feelings and sharing thoughts.
